Lodwar Municipality is established by and derives its authority and accountabilityfrom Urban Areas and Cities Act No. 13 of 2011 and Cities and Municipal Charter on (5 th December, 2018). Lodwar Municipality is under the County Government of Turkana and is domiciled in Kenya.
